
Fried Tempeh Strips
Fried tempeh strips are the most simple, accessible and versatile preparation for tempeh. These crispy strips are the perfect addition to salads, sandwiches, and grain bowls. They are also just perfect as a snack!
Ingredients: 8oz block of tempeh, high heat oil, sauce of choice (optional)
thaw tempeh and cut into strips- 1/3-1/4' thick (thinner cuts will yield a crispier result)
heat oil of choice in a pan on medium high heat (use enough oil so that the tempeh sizzles while it cooks)
add strips to pan and cook until golden brown on each side (4-5 minutes per side)
splash in some flavor* and cook for an additional minute, allowing the flavors to caramelize on the tempeh
add strips to your rice/grain bowl, place them atop your favorite salad, use them in a sandwich, or simply snack away!
